Highlight: | Mold Making Platinum Cure Silicone Rubber,Liquid Platinum Cure Silicone Rubber,RTV2 Platinum Cure Silicone Rubber |
MCPLA-L Series Platinum-cure liquid silicone rubber also known as addition-cure silicone mold rubber, two component elastomer cross-linking at room temperature. The polymerization can be accelerated by heat. The silicone components are delivered as liquids, which once mixed and cured into translucent, elastic and resistant material. platinums silicones exhibit the lowest long-term shrinkage and have the longest library life of all mold rubbers. While good for making molds for casting a variety of materials.
1. Easy Curing: polymerizes at room temperature (23C).
2. High tear and tensile strength
3. Long shelf life with low shrinkage (0.1%)
4. Fast mixing (1:1) and easy processing due to the low viscosity
1.RTV2 platinum cure silicone rubber is commonly used for making molds for industrial parts, various materials such as resins, plaster, and concrete, decorative objects.
2.Special Effects: RTV2 platinum cure silicone rubber is used in the film and entertainment industry for creating special effects and prosthetics.
3.Food and Confectionery: RTV2 platinum cure silicone rubber is used in the food and confectionery industry for creating molds for chocolates, candies, and other food items.
Processing and Instructions of MCPLA-L Series Addition Cured Liquid Silicones Rubber
Step 1
The ideal working temperature is around a constant 25°C. Best results can be obtained at constant temperatures between 21°C and 26°C, in a clean, dry, dust-free environment. Avoid working in high humidity.
Step 2
Measure product in accordance with your intended use. Prepare 1 part A to 1 part B by weight and pour into a clean, smooth-sided container large enough to hold all the liquid and allow room for mixing.
Step 3
The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. make sure to scrape the container sides, bottom, and corners as you mix. Be careful not to whip excessive air into the mixture.
Step 4
Prepare a container(not silicone material),add the item and keep them face up.
Pour the mixed silicone onto the container and distribute evenly to cover the top of the item by at least 6-7mm
Step 5
Adjust the position and then let it cure, the bubbles will melt gradually.
Step 6
Pull the item out of the mold after 24 hrs
Apply a release agent, Although not usually necessary, a release agent will make demolding easier when casting into most surfaces.
RTV2 Silicone rubber must be used within 12 months from the manufacturing date. Beyond this date, MC silicone no longer guarantees the products confirms with the sales specification. In order to preserve best properties it is recommended to follow strictly the following guidelines:
Store the original packing tightly sealed and at a temperature below 30 C
Use the product as soon as the packaging has been opened.
Q1: Why the curing time of platinum silicone varies in environment with different temperature ?
