Rtv-2 Platinum Cure Silicone Liquid Rubber Life Casting Silicone Food Safe
MCPLA-L20A/B RTV2 platinum cured liquid silicone rubber is a two-part, high-performance elastomer that is used for mold making, casting, and other industrial applications. It is called "platinum cured" because it uses a platinum catalyst to initiate the curing process, which results in a higher quality and more durable end product.
Applications of Platinum Cured Liquid Silicone Rubber Resin Mold Making
1.mold making for various materials
polyurethane and other reactive resins
Small pieces of cement,plaster,gypsum,concrete products.
Food like chocolate,fondants,desserts
Low melt metal
2.casting body parts, artificial skin, silicone dolls ,shoe insole.

Processing and Instructions of Addition Cured Liquid Silicones Rubber
The ideal working temperature is around a constant 25°C. Best results can be obtained at constant temperatures between 21°C and 26°C, in a clean, dry, dust-free environment. Avoid working in high humidity.
Measure product in accordance with your intended use. Prepare 1 part A to 1 part B by weight and pour into a clean, smooth-sided container large enough to hold all the liquid and allow room for mixing.
The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 5 minutes. make sure to scrape the container sides, bottom, and corners as you mix. Be careful not to whip excessive air into the mixture.
Prepare a container(not silicone material),add the item and keep them face up.
Pour the mixed silicone onto the container and distribute evenly to cover the top of the item by at least 6-7mm
Adjust the position and then let it cure, the bubbles will melt gradually.
Pull the item out of the mold
Contamination from sulfur (e.g., sulfur-based clay), amines, tin compounds, cured polyester resin, some paints and some silicone rubbers may inhibit surface cure of platinum-cured rubbers.
Apply a release agent, Although not usually necessary, a release agent will make demolding easier when casting into most surfaces.
Storage and shelf life of Addition Cured Liquid Silicones Rubber
MC Silicone MCPLA -L Series should be used within 12 months from the manufacturing date. Beyond this date, MC silicone no longer guarantees the products confirms with the sales Specification.

Q1: Why the curing time of platinum silicone varies in environment with different temperature ?
Platinum (addition) cured silicone rubber,Which with platinum catalyst and uses heat to transform from liquid to solid rubber. Therefore, platinum cured silicone rubber is sensitive to temperature, platinum systems are often cured quickly with heat, although they can also be formulated to cure at low temperatures and room temperature.
Q2:why the bottom and sides of platinum silicone molds are still gummy?
platinum silicone rubber requires accurate and careful mixing. The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 3~5 minutes. make sure to scrape the container sides, bottom, and corners as you mix.
Q3: Why the platinum silicone rubber do not cure?
Platinum-cure silicone rubbers are critically sensitive to some materials and will not cure under any circumstances when exposed. like the materials below:
#Natural rubbers vulcanized with sulfur
#RTV elastomer is catalyzed with metal salts, e. G. Tin compounds
#Epoxy catalyzed with amines
#Certain organic solvents, such as Ketones, alcohols, ether etc.
Q4: Is platinum silicone food safe?
yes! It's safe to contact Food and skin, which is suitable for making food molds and making Prosthetics .
